De Montfort Welcome Festival is a collection of events, activities and talks to settle you into university life!

The Welcome Festival kicks off with DMU's International Welcome Week, and runs right through to the end of your first week of teaching.

De Montfort Welcome Festival starts for International Students on the 16th September with a series of events to support settling into the UK, the main period of activity for all students then starts on Saturday 21st September. Welcome events and activities run through until the 6th October.

Yes, you can use the lift in the building, please seek assistance at the Hub, located on the left as you enter the building.

All of events where alcohol is available will require a valid form of Photo ID.

You must bring either a Passport, Drivers License or ID Card that has the Pass Hologram located on it.

Photocopies or Pictures will not be accepted.

Our events site is the ONLY place to purchase an Official Freshers 2023 Wristband.

Wristbands bought from external promoters and sites are not associated with De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) and DSU will not be liable for any purchases made outside of our events site events.demontfortsu.com

Your wristband is a digital product and you will need access to your account on events.demontfortsu.com to show us your ticket in the form of a QR code upon arrival of the event.

You can use the masterpass feature on events.demontfortsu.com to add the masterpass to a digital wallet on your mobile device for easy access. The masterpass will work as your ticket for any events purchased through the events.demontfortsu.com site.

To ensure quick and smooth entry please have this ready ahead of time for your arrival at the event.

After purchase of your wristband, you cannot transfer it to another person.

DSU welcomes non student guests to our events. The guest must accompanied by a current DMU student, have valid photo ID and have pre-purchased a wristband or ticket for the event(s).

There is no limit on the amount of guests a student may bring with them, however the guest and their behaviour will be the responsibility of the student accompanying them.

No Guests will be permitted to any event not included within the Freshers 2023 Nightlife or Experience wristbands.

We want our spaces to be as welcoming and safe as possible. If you feel unwell, please come and speak to our team and they will help you out. We will have at least one First Responder and/or trained First Aider on-site at all times so you’re in safe hands!

Due to the nature of our partnerships with external affiliates and sponsorships our events may be modified or replaced at short notice.

DSU will do their best ensure that the most up to date event information will always be available in the event description of the event on our events site events.demontfortsu.com 

Security will be doing bag and wallet checks, pat downs and pocket searches to ensure the safety of the attendees of the event. Females will only be pat down by female security staff. 

Spotters may be present around the venue to concentrate on purchasing and serve.

We provide refunds only in specific circumstances. Please get in touch if you require one.

No. Smoking and vaping is strictly prohibited anywhere in the buildings and there will be dedicated spaces outside for you to do so. There are several detectors fitted around the buildings that are activated by smoking or vaping. This results in the whole building being evacuated and the event cancelled.

Payment plans must be paid in full before granting your event access - all refunds on the payment plan must be requested 2 weeks before the first event on 6th September or refunds will not be granted for partially paid wristbands.

Your induction timetable is unique to your year group and course, and can be found on the MyDMU app. Course timetables for undergraduate and most postgraduate courses can be accessed from the Timetable 'tile'.
