What is Freshers Week at DMU?
Freshers Week for De Montfort University is run by De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) and is here to welcome you to DMU and help you settle in to University life!
During Freshers’ Week we will be hosting a range of events & activities for you to get involved in and meet new people.
When does Freshers Week Start?
Freshers will oficially begin on Friday 23rd September.
Additional events will be hosted in the lead up to the official Freshers launch so keep an eye on our events list.
Where can I get Wristbands/Tickets for Freshers Week?
Wristbands are the cheapest and best possible way of accession all of our events and activities throughout Freshers’ Week and they sell out every year. We recommend you purchase your wristband as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
Individual event tickets will be released at a later date TBC.
Where is De Montfort Students' Union?
You can find us right at the heart of DMU.
DSU is your student hub. Enjoy food, games, events, nightlife and more in the middle of campus.
Campus Centre Building, Mill Lane, LE2 7DR.
Will I need to bring photo ID?
All of events where alcohol is available will require a valid form of Photo ID.
You must bring either a Passport, Drivers License or ID Card that has the Pass Hologram located on it.
Photocopies or Pictures will not be accepted.
How do I purchase a Wristband?
From 23rd of September wristbands will no longer be available for purchase on our events site.
However you can pop in to the students' union at the Supplies shop to purchase your wristband.
Wristbands currently cost £50.
Individual event tickets will still be available for purchase from our site and on the door subject to availability.
Wristband Collections
You can collect your freshers wristband between 10 and 4pm on 23rd, 24th and 25th September from De Montfort Students' union @ the Campus Centre.
If you are unable to collect your wristband from us during these times don't worry! You can use your QR codes to gain entry to the events;

2. Log in to your account
3. Select bookings
4. Select the relevant event
To ensure quick and smooth entry please have this ready ahead of time for your arrival at the event.
Wristband Policy
For our nightlife events, all wristband holders are entitled to guaranteed entry before midight. Wristband holders may be required to buy entry on the door if they fail to attend before midnight due to capacity.
Any attempt to remove the wristband before the end of Freshers week will void your entry to all Freshers week events and you will be required to purchase a new one.
After collection of your wristband you cannot transfer it to another person. All transfers must be made through the native app before collection, otherwise if you have purchased multiple wristbands you must collect it with the person you are transferring it to.
Guest Policy
DSU welcomes non student guests to our events. The guest must accompanied by a current DMU student, have valid photo ID and have pre-purchased a wristband or ticket for the event(s).
There is no limit on the amount of guests a student may bring with them, however the guest and their behaviour will be the responsibility of the student accompanying them.
No Guests will be permitted to International Student events, Freshers Fair, Games Nights, Opprtunities Fair, Well-fest, Voice Day, The Friend Zone or East Street Lanes Takeover. Any tickets bought for any of these events by non-DMU students will be refused entry on the door.
Health & Safety
Medics and/or First Aiders will be available at all of our events. If you need medical assistance or notice someone who does then please approach any member of staff who will be able to retrieve the trained member of staff.
FREE Bottle Spikies are available from the bar.
Security Policy
Security will be doing bag and wallet checks, pat downs and pocket searches to ensure the safety of the attendees of the event. Females will only be pat down by female security staff.
Spotters may be present around the venue to concentrate on purchasing and serve.
COVID-19
If any measures are introduced which results in the cancellation of Freshers Week events, please rest assured that full refunds will be given to everyone who has purchased an official wristband from the DSU website.
